We provide

Neuropsychologists help the head injured person to adjust to the changes the illness has caused. Typically, head injured people find it difficult to accept the limitations the brain injury imposes on their mental and physical abilities. Sometimes recovery takes a long time. Often, some disabilities persist. Frequently, the individual feels misunderstood and frustrated by others misperceptions of their difficulties. Coping with illness is a process in which the head injured person learns to appraise his or her mental or physical difficulties, and to maximize preserved abilities to compensate for permanent deficits. The person learns to build up realistic expectations and explores alternatives that enable him or her to live a satisfactory life with remaining impairments.
